Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at J.D. Young in the charming market town of Harleston was a soothing retreat, one I found particularly delightful as I navigated the quaint streets with a few cherished friends. The hotel, a beautifully restored 15th-century coaching inn, boasts a sophisticated blend of velvets and marbles, creating an inviting atmosphere that calls for quiet reflection. We indulged in a dinner comprised of locally sourced seasonal produce, each bite a testament to the pride the kitchen takes in its craft. In the morning, the breakfast was not only promptly served but was also a delightful experience; an array of options that catered to everyone’s dietary preferences, paired with excellent service from a team who seemed genuinely happy to engage in friendly conversation. After our hearty meal, we found solace in the elegantly styled lounge, warmed by the vintage log burner, a perfect place to share stories and laughter, sparking a sense of camaraderie that was as rejuvenating as the serene environment itself. J.D. Young isn’t just a hotel; it’s a heartwarming experience that I eagerly look forward to revisiting.
